Section for Quality and Innovation

History

The Section for Quality and Innovation exist already 10 years, firstly under Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia Novo mesto branch (GZS OZ Novo mesto). In December 1997 board of directors of GZS OZ Novo mesto has founded a Committee for Quality in Dolenjska and Bela krajina. Its interests have spread to the field of innovation activities, so the committee changed its name to Committee for Quality and Innovations. Due to the changed legislation within the Chamber of commerce law the GZS OZ Novo mesto ceased to exist. The committee renewed its activities under the new Chamber of Commerce of Dolenjska and Bela krajina region in September 2007.

The role of Section for Quality and Innovation

Section for Quality and Innovation is a professional working body, working within the Chamber as a stimulator and organizer of activities in the area of quality. Its ideas, politics and quality projects aim to ensure the proper role of quality and innovation in the broadest sense. The Section's main role is to entice and accelerate activities for improvement of quality products, services and processes and measures for ecological production. By promoting complete quality control the members of the Section give initiative for innovative processes through activities such as recognition, promotion, support and realization of innovative ideas.

Members of the Section are from successful companies from the region. It operates through sessions, where they accept initiatives, organize conferences, seminars, lectures, and call for applications for awards in the field of quality and innovation. The Section is indirectly included in the activities of Slovenian Association for Quality.
